Pardew rues Dickson misfortune

Thu 31 Jan, 09:16 PM

Charlton striker Chris Dickson is facing up to three months on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury - in a hotel foyer. The youngster, who recently returned to The Valley after a successful loan spell with League One side Gillingham, twisted his knee in the hotel Charlton were staying at prior to Tuesday's home clash with Stoke.

"Chris got injured in a freakish accident in the reception of the hotel before Tuesday's game," boss Alan Pardew told the club's official website.

"He has injured himself quite badly and we feel we're going to miss him for some time. It's early stages, but it could be as much as three months."

Pardew has therefore been forced to shelve a plan to loan out fellow forward Izale McLeod, who was reportedly a target for Leeds.

"It's a shame because I really wanted to loan out Izale and get him some games. Unfortunately, we can't do that now."
