Marek Saganowski is set to return to the Southampton squad for Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace after a successful run-out for the reserves. The Polish striker has been sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury, but he proved his fitness by getting 75 minutes under his belt as Saints' reserves beat Aldershot 2-1.
On-loan Aston Villa defender Stephen O'Halloran also got some match practice in, having yet to start a first-team game.
O'Halloran is in line for his full debut at Selhurst Park after Gregory Vignal suffered a broken arm at Norwich in midweek.
"It was good for Marek to get a run-out, which he needed, and Stephen got 90 minutes under his belt and did okay," said reserves boss Stewart Henderson.
Youngsters Cedric Baseya and Josh Dutton-Black were on target for Saints.
