Ipswich have completed the signing of Plymouth midfielder David Norris for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £2million.

The 26-year-old, who began his career at Bolton with new team-mate Jon Walters, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Portman Road.

Norris made made 235 appearances for the Pilgrims, scoring 27 goals, and became a huge favourite with the Home Park faithful.

Town boss Jim Magilton told the club's official website: "I have watched David's career closely over the last few years and I'm delighted to have him now at this football club.

"It has been well documented that we have been trying to get him to Portman Road and I can fully understand Plymouth's reluctance to let him leave.

"Good players are always in demand and David's a very good player. He has all the attributes to help take this club where we want it to be."

Meanwhile, Shane Supple and Billy Clarke have left Ipswich to join Falkirk on loan.
