Central defender David Mirfin has returned to Scunthorpe from Watford on a season-long loan.
The 26-year-old spent three years with the Iron between 2008 and 2011, making 111 appearances in all competitions.
He joined Watford in the summer after his contract at Glanford Park expired but has played just five times in all competitions for the Hornets this term.

pity we as a club could not find the money to pay murfin in summer instead of buying players who get injured on the trianing ground UP THE IRON
Maldwyn I started at the old show ground around 1960, my hero was Brian Godfrey, closely followed by Jackie Marriot, as you say I have followed them through thin and even thinner, these last few years have been fantastic for the Iron, punching way above our weight. Will always be an Iron fan no matter where we end up. UP THE IRON
I'm with you Scunny Lad. I've been supporting them since the WW2 ended in 1945 and boy have we had some hard times, mind you in those days we had over 10.000 going through the gates regularly. Being able to sit at home in a warm house watching TV hasn't helped. But a couple of wins will lift the fan's moral, which in turn can only help the team.
UP THE IRON!
With you all the way Maldwyn, with a couple of signings in the bag lets hope we can move out of the danger zone. I suggest Knill is on a short rope at the moment, I wish him every success and want him and the Iron to move onward and upward.
Boy, are you needed!
