Southend have recalled striker Charles Ademeno from his loan spell at Blue Square Premier side Rushden and Diamonds due to their injury list.The 19-year-old joined the Nene Park club in February initially until the end of the season and scored one goal in eight games.

But he has now been recalled to the Southend side that will face Crewe at the weekend due to a player shortage at Roots Hall.

Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson told southendunited.co.uk: "We have a few injuries at the moment.

"I want to have make sure we have enough bodies around for the remainder of the season and our play-off push."
