Northampton midfielder Giles Coke admitted that manager Stuart Gray delivered a half-time dressing down during the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham.Coke - who netted his fourth goal in just seven starts for the Cobblers since overcoming a serious knee injury - revealed that after a listless opening 45 minutes at Whaddon Road Gray left his players in no doubt that they had not performed well enough.
He said: "Sometimes it happens. Every player can hold their hands up after that first half and say they didn't put enough effort in.
"We didn't win enough second balls and we didn't work hard enough and the gaffer certainly let us know that at half-time.
"After that first-half performance I don't think any manager would be calm and he got his point across to us.
"It obviously worked because we played much better in the second-half and I think we could have gone on to win the game."
