Crewe manager Steve Holland is "confident" defender Danny Woodwards will recover from a neck injury in time to face Southend on Saturday.Woodwards was withdrawn after 70 minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Luton, but Holland believes the former Chelsea and Exeter player will be fit for the visit of the Shrimpers.
He told the club's official website: "Danny was suffering with a stiff neck and was unable to continue.
"We had to make a change there [against Luton] and we will have to see how Danny is this week, but I'm confident he will recover."
The 25-year-old could be replaced by Chris McGeady, but Holland will be hoping Woodwards will be fit as Alexandra aim to avoid relegation.
