Preston boss Alan Irvine insists qualifying for the Championship play-offs is an unrealistic target for his in-form side.Irvine has presided over a stunning upturn in fortunes at Deepdale and five wins and a draw from their last six games have all but secured safety.
That has prompted talk of sneaking into the play-offs with a late surge, but Irvine is remaining guarded about the prospect.
Irvine said: "The top half is more realistic than the play-offs.
"We have got far too much to do with five games to go.
"But the fact that we are actually talking about it shows how far the team has come since we were bottom of the league in January."
