Stags appoint non-executive chief

Mansfield mayor Tony Egginton has been named as the League Two club's new non-executive chairman following James Derry's resignation last week.Derry resigned from the post on Friday after his attempts to complete a takeover of the League Two club collapsed for the third time.

"I am delighted to announce that, following James Derry's resignation, Tony Egginton, has agreed to become non-executive chairman of Mansfield Town Football Club," said chief executive Stephen Booth.

"I trust the people of Mansfield in general and the supporters of the Stags in particular will view this as a very positive appointment and will join me in wishing Tony every success in his new role."
