Thirty-goal Aaron eyes title tilt

Mon 31 Mar, 03:30 PM

Peterborough striker Aaron Mclean admits he has surpassed his own expectations for the season after smashing the 30-goal barrier on Saturday. The former Grays man hit a brace against Lincoln to take his tally to 31 in all competitions and he has now set his sights on securing the League Two title.

He said: "I said at the start of the season that it would be nice to reach 30 goals but that was more of a cheeky statement rather than a realistic one.

"I am absolutely delighted to reach that target with five matches still to play, particularly as it was in front of our own supporters.

"I have always said that to win the golden boot and clinch the championship would be the perfect scenario and that is still a possibility."
