Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has revealed he hopes to try and sign Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes permanently in the summer.
The 20-year-old is on loan at Selhurst Park until the end of the season and has impressed since arriving at the club.
Warnock admits that he will only be signing players on free transfers which could make a move for Stokes difficult with Sunderland likely to command a fee for a player they paid £2million for from Arsenal in 2007.
"We won't be buying anyone in the summer, just getting Bosmans in," Warnock told the Croydon Guardian.
"We might be able to do a deal with Sunderland though so we shall see, but I think there will be quite a lot of players looking for jobs this summer."

Player transfers are a simple enough transaction, even the managers of clubs in the lower leagues should be able to understand how they work. You want a player; YOU BUY HIM! If he hasn't got the cash for Stokes (who I personally would rather see stay at SOL) he should stop trying to unsettle him. Warnock, like many southern born managers is a disgrace to football!!!!
Cameron & Tony, there will be many "mickey-mouse 2-bob clubs" for you to taunt next season on your Championship awaydays. Unfortunately those "mickey-mouse" clubs will probably play you off the park.
Sunderland or Palace makes no difference they are both championship clubs really
Get youself away son! Palace are a bigger, better and more ambitious club; you are wasted at safc who have peaked in the EPL - downhill all the way for that mickey-mouse 2-bob club.
More Warnock babble. If Stokes is up for sale at a fee then Jordan won't pay for him and Warnock won't consider it. The future looks bleak if we are only going for bosman transfers as most of those will want inflated wages or be below standard.
