Finlay Mickel won his sixth British downhill title in seven years at the National Championships in Meribel.
The 31-year-old, who broke his leg in a World Cup downhill in Colorado in November, edged out fellow Scot Dougie Crawford by just two hundredths of a second with a winning time of one minute 40.74 seconds.
Dave Ryding completed the podium, over two seconds behind the winner, with Ed Drake and 18-year-old TJ Baldwin, winner of Monday's junior downhill, rounding out the top five.
For the fourth consecutive occasion Chemmy Alcott pushed Pam Thorburn into second place in the women's downhill.
Alcott's time of 1:44.10 was over two-and-a-half seconds quicker than that of the 23-year-old from Strathaven with Sega Fairweather third.
World Cup veteran Alcott won four out of the five races at last year's event.
