Bluebirds offer duo reduced terms

Sat 31 May, 01:15 PM

Peter Ridsdale is hopeful of persuading Robbie Fowler and Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink to sign new deals at Cardiff on "reduced terms".Fowler has also been offered a pay-as-you-play contract in light of the injury problems he suffered during his first season at Ninian Park.

Dave Jones is keen to keep hold of the former Liverpool striker and Hasselbaink, who scored nine goals last term, and City chairman Risdale believes the experienced duo will stay with the Bluebirds.

"The two players want to remain at the club and be part of what we are trying to do and they each know the new terms of their contracts," Ridsdale told South Wales Echo.

"If they want to take that opportunity on, they will be on reduced terms compared with last term."
