Blackburn are confident the Ewood Park playing surface will be in perfect contidion for the start of the 2008/09 Premier League campaign.The pitch has been relaid following significant investment in a major irrigation and re-seeding project, which started two weeks ago.

Head groundsman Steve Patrick told the club's official website: "It's a complex exercise involving the latest technology, but, given some good growing weather, we expect to end up with a pitch to rival the very best."
