Bristol Rovers director of football Lennie Lawrence expects the club to sign winger Jeff Hughes from Crystal Palace over the weekend.Hughes underwent a medical on Friday and is all set to seal a permanent move to Rovers after spending time on loan at the Memorial Stadium last season.
An ankle injury prevented Hughes from making a first-team appearance for the Pirates during his loan spell and Lawrence has confirmed the 22-year-old is now on the verge of leaving Selhurst Park.
"We are nearly there, although you never take anything for granted until the thing is actually signed," Lawrence told the Bristol Evening Post.
"But we are hoping things go to plan and we can get everything sorted over the weekend."
