Premier League new boys West Brom have completed the permanent signing of striker Roman Bednar from Hearts.

The once-capped Czech Republic player was at The Hawthorns on a season-long loan from Hearts this season and scored 17 goals in 34 appearances to help the Baggies towards to Championship title and the FA Cup semi-finals.

As a result, manager Tony Mowbray has decided to take up the club's option to sign the 25-year-old, who will join Luke Moore, a £3 million acquisition from Aston Villa this week, in the Albion attack.

Securing the striker's services means that Mowbray can now concentrate his efforts on holding onto some of his other stars.

Both striker Kevin Phillips and playmaker Zoltan Gera have stalled over signing new contracts and are strongly linked with moves away from the newly-promoted club.
