Premier League - Becks dismisses Chelsea link

David Beckham claims he will not be joining Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge should the Milan coach move to Chelsea in the summer.

The former Manchester United midfielder is set to play his final game for the Rossoneri on Sunday after a six-month loan spell before returning to the Los Angeles Galaxy for the second half of the Major League football season, while speculation is rife that Ancelotti is on his way to Stamford Bridge to take charge of the Blues.

But Beckham does not expect to move to Chelsea, telling the Los Angeles Times: "I don't think that's a possibility, to be quite honest. At the end of the day, I'm still contracted to the Galaxy."

He added: "I'll be coming back July 11 to start training and then to finish the MLS season.

"But it's always nice to be wanted, and Carlo has been amazing to me since I've come to Milan, to play me in as many games as he has. I'm very thankful to him for that.

"I'm excited about (coming back). I'm really looking forward to it.

"I've been in Milan for six months, and I've enjoyed my time immensely. But I've always said, and I will always say, that I am still committed to MLS and to the Galaxy, no matter what anyone says."

Beckham was less dismissive about the possibility of a return to Real Madrid, the club he left in 2007 for the Galaxy.

The return of Florentino Perez, the man who brought Beckham to the Spanish capital, could be confirmed on Monday if no one else stands against him in the presidential elections and the former England captain believes it will be good for the club.

"I don't know," Beckham said when asked if he could see himself playing for Madrid again. "To even be asked the question at 34 years old is quite flattering. I never thought I'd be here on loan and playing for a club like Milan. What happens in the future, I don't know. At the moment, all I'm concentrating on is the game on Sunday."

Lets be perfectly honest, Chelsea are a 3rd rate 2nd­ division club that got lucky, Abramovich could have­ bought any other club in the UK, & that club would­ have been in the privileged position Chelsea now find­ themselves in, eg: had he bought Sheffield Wednesday,­ they would have got Mourinho & 2 successive titles­ & would today be celebrating an FA cup win. I admit I felt sorry for Chelsea against­ Barcelona but I would have felt sorry for ANY team in­ that position. In Chelsea's case they got their­ football karma too. How could you even compare someone­ like David Beckham, a true ambassador for England and­ for football, with the dirty, fouling, cheating­ whingers of Chelsea?   17. I dont see becks playing for anyother team then AC­ Milan. He played his best football in a very long time­ with AC, and it helps being surrounded with great­ players such as Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pirlo, etc.

  20. Beckham wouldnt possibly be interested in Chelsea,­ since his ill fated move to Galaxy, he has realised his­ mistake, & will now only play for big clubs.
