Carlo Ancelotti has announced his contract at AC Milan had been terminated by mutual consent although he refused to confirm he was on his way to Chelsea.
Ancelotti stood down as coach in the wake of Milan's 2-0 win at Fiorentina - a result which confirmed they finished third in Serie A and qualified automatically for the group stages of next season's Champions League.
He said: "I have agreed to leave Milan. The decision was by mutual consent. But a move to London is not certain yet."

If Ancelotti takes over as Chelsea's new manager Chelsea's fans should prepare themselves to an even more BORING brand of football . Yawwwwwwwn !!
Lets hope that if Mr Ancelotti does take the managers job at Chelsea, he will stay longer than the last batch. As a lifelong Chelsea supporter I am fed up with the fact that I might wake up yet again to another sacked manager. Jose Mourinho was, in my opinion, treated very badly by the heirarchy at Chelsea. He was the best thing to happen to the club in years and got treated like a dog at the end. So Carlo beware. I'd love to see you at the club and I pray you'll keep Gus Hiddink's legacy and keep us on track for more silverwear should you join us at Stamford Bridge. I just hope that you are treated with dignity and fairness that past managers have not.
