Rotherham defender Jamie Green feels his side are more than capable of gaining promotion next season.
The Millers coped admirably with a 17-point deduction last term and manager Mark Robins has already begun his preparation for the new season with the signings of Kevin Ellison and Jamie Annerson.
And Green, who signed a new two-year deal on Saturday, is looking forward to starting the new campaign on an equal footing with everyone else.
"We will be on a level playing field next season and have the potential to go up," he told his club's official website. "We are looking at promotion, preferably automatic, but if not through the play-offs. But our main aim will be to clinch one of those automatic spots.
"I am enjoying the break because it was a tough season. The points deduction meant it would be a long season but there is no doubt that soon I will want to get straight back into football."
On Annerson and Ellison, he added: "I know Jamie from his loan spells with the club and he is a very good keeper. I have played against Kevin Ellison once before so I am now looking forward to playing alongside him."
