Thu 31 Jul, 06:00 PM

Grimsby Town striker Nathan Jarman is determined to force his way into Alan Buckley's first-team plans this forthcoming season. The 21-year-old faces a tough battle to claim a place in the Grimsby attack, with Martin Butler, Danny North, Andy Taylor and Chris Llewellyn providing competition for places.

However, Jarman is confident he will get a chance to impress, and he intends to make the most of it.

He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I'm really up for it this season. I just want to be involved, whether it is from the bench or as a starter, and get scoring goals.

"It's going to be tough, and I know what I'm up against, but when I get my chance I'm going to take it.

"I'm going to make sure that when the gaffer is writing the team out, he's thinking of me."
