Norwich midfielder Lee Croft believes consistency is the key to the Canaries mounting a serious push for promotion this season. With the likes of Wes Hoolahan and Dejan Stefanovic arriving at Carrow Road over the summer, Croft is confident boss Glenn Roeder has brought in the quality to improve on last season's relegation battle.
But the 23-year-old warned that the Canaries will need to replicate their best form week in week out to stand a chance of promotion.
He said: "With the players he (Roeder) has brought in I think it is consistency more than anything and I'm sure if we can bring that to our game on our day we can play some good stuff and hopefully that'll take us there.
"We'll take it each game as it comes. Obviously we don't want to be down at the bottom of the table, we want to be up at the top so that is what we will be striving towards."
Asked if he believes the squad is ready for the new season he added: "I think we're getting close to it but I think the gaffer has brought in a lot of good players and he said it is a lot stronger now than it was."
