Boss Iain Dowie insists his first home game in charge of QPR will be a good test - but his focus remains on the start of the league season.QPR take on Serie A newcomers Chievo on Saturday and Dowie will use the game as a dress rehearsal for the season opener against Barnsley on August 9.
Dowie said that the side to play Chievo will be "pretty much" the side which will face Barnsley.
"We've got to keep building, and it will be useful to test ourselves against Chievo's style of play this weekend," he told the club's official website.
"It's important to be able to adjust to different tactics. It will be a good exercise to see how we cope, and I am really looking forward to it. Chievo are a good side. They're a very hard-working unit with good technical players, so it is going to be a tough challenge.
"But it's all about preparing for the big one, because right now all things lead to Barnsley."
