Sunderland boss Roy Keane has blasted Stoke over their treatment of transfer target Marton Fulop.
The Potters looked set to sign the goalkeeper after agreeing a fee with the North East club for the Hungarian earlier this month.
However, they were unable to agree personal terms with Fulop and pulled out of the deal before signing Thomas Sorensen on a free transfer.
Fulop has now been forced to return to the Stadium of Light and Keane is furious at how Stoke have conducted themselves in the whole episode.
"They took him for a trial, made him an offer and he asked for a bit more - but they said that's it," Keane told The Sun.
"It's a bloody disgrace to treat a player like that."

Keane , do you know what your on about ? they made an offer ,he said no , so whats wrong with not signing him? very confused!!!
Its a pity other clubs don`t follow Tony Pulis`s strategy,a club will only pay what they think not what a plyer demands. Well done Stoke City,
From Bluey16
roy keane was a medioce player now managing a side who go up and down like a yoyo.
and has always been a hothead
Sorry, players are paid what they are worth. Else, the club would not pay them. This guy is worth what was offered and not a penny more.
ITS ABOUT TIME A CLUB TOLD A PLAYER NO ITS A SHAME MORE CLUBS ARE NOT LIKE STOKE THEN WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY SUCH EXTORTIONATE PRICES TO WATCH THIS SO CALLED FOOTBALL ROY NEEDS TO TAKE A LONG LOOK AT HIMSELF FOR THAT COMMENT PLAYERS ARE PAID WAY TOO MUCH WELL DONE STOKE FOR SAYING NO
Stoke made him an offer which he didn't accept.Fulop asked for more which Stoke didn't accept.
Stoke are not obliged to cave in to a players wage demands.
After a little after thought i think that Roy Keane may see that the only disgrace is in his own barbed comment.
if sunderland dont want the player then release him.
you are right paul...maybe keano himself want to let him go...good acting keano
OoooH ! A bit of a strop from Keano.
Is it 'cos he's going to have to keep paying wages for Fulop.
If Stoke didn't want to pay higher wages - that's OK .
It's business not life and death.
Get a grip Roy.
