Keane: Stoke Are A 'Disgrace'

Thu 31 Jul, 10:09 AM

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has blasted Stoke over their treatment of transfer target Marton Fulop.

The Potters looked set to sign the goalkeeper after agreeing a fee with the North East club for the Hungarian earlier this month.

However, they were unable to agree personal terms with Fulop and pulled out of the deal before signing Thomas Sorensen on a free transfer.

Fulop has now been forced to return to the Stadium of Light and Keane is furious at how Stoke have conducted themselves in the whole episode.

"They took him for a trial, made him an offer and he asked for a bit more - but they said that's it," Keane told The Sun.

"It's a bloody disgrace to treat a player like that."

  7. Stoke made him an offer which he didn't accept.Fulop asked for more which Stoke didn't accept.
Stoke are not obliged to cave in to a players wage demands.
After a little after thought i think that Roy Keane may see that the only disgrace is in his own barbed comment.

  10. OoooH ! A bit of a strop from Keano.
Is it 'cos he's going to have to keep paying wages for Fulop.
If Stoke didn't want to pay higher wages - that's OK .
It's business not life and death.
    Get a grip Roy.
