Blackpool have made a deadline-day swoop for former Sunderland winger Andy Welsh after he called time on his spell in Canada.The 23-year-old has been playing for MLS side Toronto FC after leaving the Black Cats in March, but has now agreed a return to England and signed a one-year deal with the Tangerines with an option for a second year.

Welsh, who started his career at Stockport, has also had loan spells with Macclesfield and Leicester before his move to the MLS.
