Eurosport - Mon, 31 Aug 14:47:00 2009

Xisco's unhappy spell at Newcastle is set to end after the club agreed a one-year loan deal with Racing Santander.

The former Spain U21 striker (pictured right) arrived from Deportivo in a £5.7 million deal but only played seven times in the league after he suffered an injury and fell out of favour with caretaker boss Chris Hughton.

Racing confirmed on their website that they will loan him until June 30 next year after he passes a medical.

The club also said they had signed Brazilian full-back Henrique from Barcelona, also on loan.

Racing, under new coach Juan Carlos Mandia, started their Primera Division campaign with a 4-1 home defeat by Getafe.

  3. Ashley quote " I'm going to sell as many players as I can, send the rest out on loan so I don't have to pay their wages, invent a new shirt which everybody will buy from my shops, wait till the middle of the season so I get the gate receiptas then bugger off (overdraft repaid!).
    Sorry Cameron.

  4. Jose Enrique seems to be trying his best. If that's good enough, I'm not sure, but in my opinion, we should stop signing players from Spain. I'm from Newcastle and the climate does my nappa in. Scandinavians seem better suited to playing the game in England - outside of the top four anyway. Remember Marcelino? I'm sorry, but the man? was G A Y......

  6. I hope he has a half decent season with them so we can maybe recoup some of the pathetic money Wise valued him at; at the moment he's worthless both on and off the pitch.
Wise and co should be investigated when you look at the money we shelled out on his advice and compare that to the ability of the players he brought in, somebody came out of it all quid’s in, and it certainly wasn't us.

  7. I hate to say it but has Viduka found a new club yet? Can't help thinking he would have a field day in this division, if and only if he signs a pay as you play contract.

  8. Looks like Lovenkrands could be going to Birmingham as he wants to stay in the prem. (at least for 1 season!). Good news re. Xisco. The couple of times he has come on this season he looked incredibly slow and off the pace. He has made Shola look like Usain Bolt!
