Andrea Dossena is likely to stay put at Liverpool, according to the player's agent.
The Italian full-back has been linked with a move back to Serie A this summer, with Napoli and Juventus reportedly showing an interest.
But with the Serie A transfer market closing on Monday, Dossena's agent Roberto La Florio believes the chances of the player returning to Italy are slim.
"I know nothing regarding those rumours," he told calciomercato.it.
"I don't think he will return to Italy, it's difficult for an agreement to be reached and I really think it's too late."
Dossena is said to be keen on a return to Serie A despite only moving to Anfield last season from Udinese.

But still not as expensive as the Scottish clowns bad buys
the spanish waiter has made to many bad buys
Although Rooney could make a good stand in, I thought you were supposed to go down with the challenge, not five minutes before the contact to get awarded a penalty
Well Sid, I'll bet you weren't laughing when you played us last year, Wasn't that when the Mancs were a joke. Lets see were you end up this season without Eduardos tutor playing for you
Bill B: POST 10
The difference is Man United are the Premier League Champions for the 3rd year running whilst Liverpool are just a joke, they do make me laugh. What a carry on at Anfield. Yak! yak! yak!
very good
No 6: Lets see Veron £30M + Anderson £17M, you could have bought everyone of the Liverool players you mentioned for that amount of money - who bought them, why Fergie did. Not to mention £17M for Nani, £20M for Hargreaves and £18M was it for Carrick.
Don't make me laugh so much, it hurts
Why why why are people writing Liverpool off as contenders. I don't understand this as Liverpool have the same team other than Alonso for Aquilini and Johnson for Arbeloa. We got to second in the league and the only team in history not to win the league and lose only twice. I honestly think Liverpool can push forward and be contenders again. Not many top teams will go to Spurs this season and come away with 3 points and Villa will take points aswell. So please stop writing them off. I think alot of these comments come from the other supporters as they know Liverpool have the squad to challenge and are a little scared of them picking up the pace and I just hope Liverpool have had there bad spell now as all the others will have theres and we can then see how they recover. If you support Liverpoll then support them and stop kicking them when they are having a bad spell.
Sid#6, hey! We need Lucas (to score own goals).
SID#6: YOU"VE GOT A POINT MATE' EVEN DEL TROTTER&ARFUR DALEY COMBINED COULD'NT SHIFT THAT LOT"NOT EVEN ON A BUY 2 GET 1 FREE....YAK!YAK!YAK!
Cor Blimey; look at this lot; All bought and managed by that fat Spanish bloke, Lucas, Aurelio, Dossena, Nunez, Gonzalez, Degen, El Zhar, Babel, Ayala, Insua, Kyrgiakos, Plessis, N’Gog, and Voronin. Can you see the likes of Chelsea, Man United, Spurs, Arsenal, the Villa and even Man City buying any of these players. Blimey, can you really see them at the end of the season doing a lap of honour parading the premier league trophy? Not a chance! What a carry on at Anfield. Yak! yak! yak!
Rafael van der vaart and Negrado will be bit part players at Real Madrid this season. We need a bit of craft in midfield and a second striker. Surely we can do some sort of loan deal for either of those players, if not both. Lucas and Mascharano are argueably the same type of players, defensive midfielders, who have been badly exposed as a non treat going forward already this season. Bolton man marked gerrard in the 1st half leaving both defensive midfielders to create something and failed. If we wait for Aqualini to come back, the legue may be already over and thats depending on if he can make the grade also. We need some1 now. Come on Rafa, squeeze some money out of them yanks.
He is staying only coz if he joins another club he won't get the near £2M a year which he does at LFC..........another bad signing RAFA
Dossena shows exactly what Benitez is about. A dumb spanish waiter who makes shi.t signings. Aurelio, dossena, lucas, nunez, gonzalez, deggen, el zhar.... the list goes on and on and on.....
Anyone who scores the 4th goal against Real and Utd in the space of a week is a Legend. Just needs a run in the team, will only get that if Insua and Aurelio are injured.
I think this guy has major talent and maybe he hasn't been given a decent enough run or enough faith from the management to be a regular first team player. This is how it is now; though we all moan about players getting too much money & not being loyal - but the players themselves seem to have the positive attitude of wanting to go wherever they are most likely to play rather than just be a make weight in a top team. Look at Glen Johnson at Chelsea. That he has talent has never been up for debate. But a winning team needs it's regulars & an additional 6 to 8 quality players that should be & would be playing in most other sides. It's a lose-lose situation because anyone just happy to sit on a King's ransom & keep the sub's bench warm probably hasn't got what it takes to be a top professional. But when the worth his salt expensive bench-warmer gets itchy feet the fans or the management tend to turn on him. I hope he gets a good run in the squad & proves why it is he felt he should be elsewhere if he isn't going to be a regular first team player.
