American Heath Slocum climbed 121 spots on the FedExCup points list with his Barclays Classic win in New Jersey, while Australia's Adam Scott and South Korean K.J. Choi were eliminated from the series.
Slocum, second-last on the points list among 125 players qualified to play the opening leg of the four-event series that pays $10 million to the overall winner, catapulted to third in the standings behind Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker.
The top 100 players on the list following the Barclays advanced to next week's second leg of the play-offs, the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston.
Japan's Ryuji Imada and Daniel Chopra of Sweden snared the last two spots for next week's event.
Choi, who missed the cut by two strokes, dropped to 101 on the points list.
Scott shot a final-round of one-under-par 70 to finish tied for 58th at Liberty National along with Chopra on five-over-par 289 but only moved six places on the list to 110th.
The top 70 players from the Deutsche Bank event advance to the BMW Championship in Chicago, with the leading 30 on the points list qualifying for the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Points will be reset for the final event to allow more players a chance to win the series with victory in the finale.
