BMW Germany set the pace in the second free practice session at Okayama with Augusto Farfus again setting the fastest lap.

As was the case in the first session, the German took to the top of the timesheets early on, with a lap of one minute and 39.786 seconds, before holding on.

Jorg Muller's best time of 1.39.861s was enough to see him finish as second quickest, followed by SEAT's Yvan Muller with a time of 1:39.924s.

Chevrolet's Robert Huff clocked 1:40.070s to take fourth, with Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro, Andy Priaulx and Rickard Rydell rounding out the top 10.

The top 15 drivers all finishing within seven tenths of a second with James Thompson's LADA Priora overcoming its early steering problems to be placed in 14th.

Once again the red flags were deployed after a car left the track at the Piper Bend, this time Japanese driver Masaki Kano, while Henry Ho suffered gearbox problems and failed to post a valid lap time.
