Manchester City are ready to pounce for Thierry Henry following reports that the Frenchman has fallen out with Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.
According to the Daily Mirror, former Arsenal striker Henry's struggle for form and fitness so far this season, coupled with his unwillingness to fit into Guardiola's rotation policy, could see him leave the European champions in January.
City have long been linked with signing Henry, and Robinho's recent comments about his willingness to move to Barcelona could help facilitate a deal.
MLS side New York Red Bulls are also keeping tabs on Henry, but they would have no chance of matching any salary wage offer City made.
The Daily Telegraph has revealed that another former Gunner, Sol Campbell, has seen a potential move to Newcastle break down because of the defender's wage demands.
Campbell was keen on a move to Tyneside as his girlfriend reportedly lives in the area. However, despite the renewed stability at the club following owner Mike Ashley shelving his plans to sell, the Magpies can't afford the former England man's services.
Injury-ravaged Everton are looking to reinforce their midfield by acquiring Ricardo Quaresma from Inter on an emergency loan, so say The Mirror.
The Portuguese winger, the definitive luxury player, is well out of favour with Jose Mourinho, and has made just three appearances this season, all from the bench.
His first spell in England, on loan at Chelsea during the last days of Luiz Felipe Scolari's ill-fated reign, has not perturbed David Moyes from going up against Napoli and Paris St Germain in the hope of signing Quaresma, although his £50,000-a-week wages could prove a sticking point.
Returning Hull City chief Adam Pearson is to launch an internal investigation into all of the club's transfer dealings over the past two years.
Pearson returned to the club following Paul Duffen's resignation earlier in the week. Duffen took ultimate responsibility for the club's awful performance during 2009.
However, when Duffen took over in 2007, the club was in the black with a modest wage bill, but Pearson has returned to find debts of £27m and a £40m wage bill, meaning the Tigers going under is a real possibility if they are relegated.
Wolves defender Greg Halford reckons he has a longer throw than Stoke slinger Rory Delap, and wants a throw-off to prove it.
Halford told the Daily Star: "We will find out if I can throw it longer than Rory. There were once for us to have a throw-off, but for some reason it got scrapped.
"I am reasonably confident, because we measured it once when I was at Reading and it went further than the world record, so we will have to see."

I'd like to see a MLS team play a PL team, I think the MLS team would have a huge chance. They play some nice football over there.
why would henry go to new york for? everyone knows new york sucks and they'll never win anything, not to mention the MLS is a second rate league in a second rate footballing country. the premiership is superior, and man city are a much superior side (they'd crush new york 100-0 if they played), and for someone of henry's calibre, the choice is logical and clear. forget new york, go to man city!
City to sign Henry: Henry Winkler!
That is why it's called paper talk...Henry, would rather play for the Red Bull New York, than go to Man City, It's Arsenal or nothing, he will lower his wage bill and sit down with Wenger to sort out a possible return home and guide the young guns, unfortunately, Barca will relish that opportunity to do business with Arsenal cause of a certain coverted no 4....and don't mind doing business with Man City to collect Robinho..But I know TH14 want allow a move to Man C and won't jeopardize Arsenal's chances of keeping their prized possession.
keep dreaming
besa half the players you mentioned are terrible and i am a city fan. Drenthe and van der vaart are horrible. They can't even start on their teams right now. You need to watch football first my friend not only youtube.
