Leeds move seven clear

League One leaders Leeds recovered from a slow start to inflict a 4-0 defeat on Yeovil for the second successive season as they moved seven points clear at the top.

Leeds keeper Casper Ankergren made two fine saves from the recalled Jon Obika before the home side earned a 42nd-minute advantage with a soft goal by Bradley Johnson.

The winger crossed the ball towards the near post where Jermaine Beckford narrowly failed to get a touch, but keeper Alex McCarthy and defender Craig Alcock allowed the ball to zip through for Johnson's seventh goal of the season.

Yeovil, unbeaten in their previous six matches, had previously had a penalty claim rejected when Obika fell under Andrew Hughes' challenge but substitute Max Gradel underlined Leeds' second-half improvement by taking a pass from Leigh Bromby on the right and scoring from a narrow angle.

After Beckford was twice denied by an offside flag his patience was rewarded when he pounced on a mistake by Terrell Forbes and shot into the top corner in the 79th minute for his 11th of the season.

And, two minutes, later a slide-rule cross from Robert Snodgrass enabled substitute Tresor Kandol to head Leeds' fourth.
