Premier League - Van Persie denies Nazi salute

The Dutchman, who scored a match-winning hat-trick at Stamford Bridge, used his Twitter account to rebut internet claims that he performed the salute in front of the Arsenal fans after scoring his second goal.
Van Persie touched his right shoulder, then his left shoulder with his right hand, before raising it in the air.
But the striker has come out to say the gesture was nothing more than an expression of joy as his side beat their London rivals.
"It has been brought to my attention of some ridiculous allegations concerning my celebration of one of my goals yesterday," Van Persie Tweeted.
"It is totally ludicrous to suggest that my action of brushing my shoulder and pointing to my fans could be construed as anything else but of a showing of joy and celebration.
"To suggest this meant anything to the contrary is insulting and absolutely absurd as nothing else came into my mind."
