Celtic have agreed to extend defender Adam Virgo's loan spell at Championship strugglers Colchester until the end of the season.The 24-year-old former Brighton man arrived on an initial six-month loan deal in August, but an extension has been agreed in time for Virgo to play in the New Year's Day clash at Charlton.

Virgo, who made the move north to Celtic for £1.5million in the summer of 2005, has been a virtual ever-present for Geraint Williams' side this season.
