Barnsley defender Stephen Foster will return to the squad for the New Year's Day clash against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.But new signing Diego Leon will not be included and must wait until next weekend for his first appearance against Blackpool in the FA Cup.

Foster missed Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Southampton due to a one-game ban and may have to settle for a place on the bench if manager Simon Davey retains Lewin Nyatanga alongside Brazilian Dennis Souza in central defence.

Bobby Hassell returned to the starting line-up on Saturday at full-back, with Marciano Van Homoet on the opposite flank.

Kayode Odejayi was back in the starting line-up following on-loan Jon Macken's early recall by Derby and Davey is expected to stick with the former Cheltenham striker.
