Macclesfield boss Ian Brightwell must do without top scorers Francis Green and Martin Gritton when his side travel to Rotherham on Tuesday.Brightwell's position as boss was questioned after the Silkmen drew 2-2 with Rochdale at the weekend to leave them without a win in seven matches.
Green sustained a knock to the ankle in that game and Gritton suffered a deep cut above the eye and both will now be ruled out for up to two weeks.
Nick Blackman, who replaced Gritton on Saturday, and Phil Doughty are the two most likely replacements as boss Brightwell prepares to reinforce his squad in January.
Andrew Teague and Richard Edghill both returned to full training this week and will be given late fitness tests before being included in the New Year's Day 16-man squad.
