Ligue 1 - Gillot named Sochaux coach

Gillot, 46, resigned as Racing Lens coach last May and takes over from caretaker manager Jean-Luc Ruty.
Ruty had been in charge since Hantz was sacked earlier this month following a string of poor results.
The Frenchman will take up his duties on January 2, but faces a tough task of turning the club's fortunes around.
Sochaux are second bottom in the French top flight halfway through the championship and are already five points adrift of safety.
