Premier League - Arshavin Jolie good for Arsenal

Andrei Arshavin's agent has said his client remains a New Year transfer target for Arsenal but claims that - like actress Angelina Jolie - the Russia playmaker could be unattainable.

Arshavin, currently on the books of Zenit St Petersburg, has been told he is free to move on during the January transfer window should a suitable approach for his services be lodged.

His availability has alerted a number of Europe's top clubs, with the 27-year-old widely regarded as one of the continent's top talents.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with the midfielder, and are unlikely to be put off by a reported £12million price tag.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already confirmed he is in the market for creativity, with the club keen to find cover for the injured Cesc Fabregas.

And agent Dennis Lachter told the Daily Mirror: "We know that Arsene Wenger likes the look of Arshavin.

"But I like the look of Angelina Jolie and it doesn't always mean you get what you want.

"Arsenal were interested in signing him last summer and they still are, so we will wait and see what happens.

"There has been a lot of interest in him this time as well from England, Spain and Italy."

Arshavin was wicked in the Euro, I don't know if­ you people watched it because England was not there,­ but he was amazing, so I do think that Adebayor, Van­ Persie, Arshavin &Nasri . could make a great come­ back sooner than later.......he creates good­ oportunities for the strikers so I think it is the­ player that Arsenal needs, as well someone reliable on­ defense is very necessary for this Gunners!!! come on­ Arsenal!!!! Arsene knows! all of the youth team development would­ be pointless without Wenger, if he has confidence in­ the players we have then that's good enough for me,­ He knows more than any other that we need more­ experience, but these players will be better for this­ season......as long as we can keep them!!
