• Saturday's all-German Champions League final at Wembley features two vastly accomplished sides who play a similar brand of football.

But which of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have the more talented players?

Tom Adams assesses the likely starting XIs...

    BORUSSIA DORTMUND (4-2-3-1)

GK: Roman Weidenfeller (Champions League appearances in 2012/13: 12)

The Dortmund keeper has a reputation as a smart shot-stopper and has amassed 266 Bundesliga appearances since joining the club from Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2002. Weidenfeller has never been deemed good enough to join the prestigious

Monaco's challenges are many and varied - racing within the tight confines of the Principality, drivers are very light on areas they can afford to make a mistake, and there's absolutely nowhere you can make a big error and get away with it. As well as a confined, barrier-lined circuit, the drivers have to contend with a track surface that is far from ideal, for having been used as public roads throughout the year there is usually a 'cleaning' process that takes place

  • These are fine days we're living in, friends. Spats between athletes don't end when they leave the court. No, they can go on and on for days ... and we're all invited to participate.

The scene: a Brussels Open qualifier between No. 99-ranked Coco Vandeweghe and No. 105-ranked Yulia Putintseva. The 18-year-old Putintseva won 4-6 6-1 6-1, and according to Vandeweghe, was not exactly sporting in her postgame comments.

Vandeweghe, the niece of former NBA'er Kiki Vandeweghe took to Twitter to explain:

Kevin Durant of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder has quietly given away a huge sum to the tornado relief effort in the state.

The man who finished second in the NBA's MVP voting to LeBron James has pledged $1 million through the The Durant Family Foundation to help those devastated by the damage.

The massive tornado on Monday afternoon flattened entire blocks of the town, killed at least 24 people and injured about 240 in Moore, Oklahoma.

Durant only commented on his donation after it was revealed by the Red Cross of Oklahoma on Twitter.

  • English football has lost all faith in stability

At the time of writing, the plans for the Stoke Sentinel’s Tony Pulis 16-page souvenir supplement were still up in the air.

But doubtless the production will be straight forward, without frill or artifice, getting to the point with minimum fuss, a route one publication.

Arsenal fans may disagree, but we’ll miss Pulis. In his tracksuit and cap he was the manager who most resembled a touchline dad, ranting and shouting his way through a Premier League season. In press conferences he always stood up, perhaps to convey a message of urgency and momentum. Either that, or he suffered from some

  • A year ago this week, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Hans-Jorg Butt was the captain of his team in a friendly against the Netherlands.

The 38-year-old had enjoyed a wonderful career playing for Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. He was involved in three Champions League finals. And lost all three.

First, when his Leverkusen side reached the 2002 final against Real Madrid, a game remembered for Zinedine Zidane’s perfect volley - but by not Butt.

"We were 2-1 down and I headed wide of the post in the final minutes," he says. Not for the first time, Butt’s name would have been on the

Sir Alex Ferguson will make an astonishing £100,000-a-day as a Manchester United ambassador, a report claims, and he has his son to thank for brokering the deal.

Ferguson will be paid £2m-a-year by United to continue working for the club but is only expected to make 20 appearances a year according to the Daily Mail.

The deal was brokered by Fergie's son Jason despite Manchester United having previously said they would no longer do business with him.

The respected Charles Sale reports in the Mail: "Jason’s disbanded Elite Sport ceased to act on United transfers following an internal inquiry

  • Stagnant Stoke right to ditch Pulis

April 17, 2011. Stoke City have just battered Bolton Wanderers 5-0 in the semi-final of the FA Cup. Around 40 minutes after chants of "it's just like watching Brazil" have faded from the end of Wembley occupied by delirious Potters supporters, Tony Pulis makes his way into the national stadium’s media conference room and, as is his style, maintains a standing posture as he addresses the press.

"We have a plan that is in place," says Pulis. "When we got in to the Premier League the aim was to build gradually and slowly. We knew we would be criticised for certain things that we do, and would

  • Of all the things to love about Barcelona, their catchy club anthem is surely up there with their fluid play, massive list of accolades, beautiful location and that bloke called Lionel.

But this musical Barca fan has added another dimension of awesome to the tune by replicating it using nothing but a bunch of bottles of local beer Estrella, emptied to varying degrees to produce the different notes.

How spot on, or not at all, do you think this chap got it? Here's a link to the real thing so you can compare.

  • One of the saddest sights in professional sports is trying to watch a one-time great who is well past his or her prime still trying to compete.

Willie Mays is, arguably, the greatest all-around player in Major League Baseball history, but if you only saw him playing for the New York Mets in the 1973 World Series, you'd have a hard time believing that.

Similarly, Johnny Unitas is one of the best quarterbacks to have ever lived, but definitely not to those who only saw him play for the San Diego Chargers.

There have been countless boxers in similar situations and fans and media routinely plead
