Most Major championships are picked up by the player who is
the last man standing; few are pro-actively won by a player taking the
tournament by the scruff of the neck.
But not Graeme McDowell at Pebble Beach. Even though his
victorious final round was shot a three-over-par 74, the genial man from
Portrush - as amiable a man in real life as he appears to be on TV - took
command of the tournament and won it with a chillingly and thrillingly ruthless round of golf.
Bunker Mentality can't praise Graeme McDowell enough for his
victory at Pebble: Northern Ireland have a new hero to be proud of.
