Three women golfers have been killed while out playing a round of golf in a thunderstorm in Germany.
The tragedy, which also left one woman critically injured, happened on Friday in the German city of Korbach, 100 miles north of Frankfurt.
A huge storm developed in the area after the four golfers had headed out for their game, and as the rain came down they decided to take refuge in a greenkeepers' shed on the course.
Tragically, however, the wooden shed suffered a direct hit by lightning that killed three of the women instantly and left the fourth fighting for her life.
The women — all aged between 41 and 67 — cannot be named due to German privacy laws.
