    Wade: Federer has golden chance

Switzerland's Federer hits a return during training session at Wimbledon (Reuters)

For some, the tennis might look like a repeat of Wimbledon, but with only the top seeds. I think it will feel very different, although you won't have to look too far for the winners.

The men play three sets, so there's little room for error. Attention will inevitably focus on Roger Federer. You wonder how he could pull off another win so soon after Wimbledon, but he's very committed to the Olympics. He has missed out three times and it's part of his plan this season. He told me three weeks was enough time to recharge and I suppose it's possible — he's really up for it.

Andy Murray obviously has a great incentive. He didn't play badly in the final but the disappointment of not winning might be too much. Novak Djokovic is carrying the flag for Serbia and national pride will be a major motivation on top of that semi defeat by Federer.

Serena Williams has to be favourite to win gold in the women's event. Her serve makes her a massive threat on grass. She hit 24 aces in her Wimbledon semi and the way she played proved that all her confidence was back.

Russia's Maria Sharapova was drained after winning the French Open, so exited Wimbledon a little tamely.

She'll be stronger at the tournament, but world number one Victoria Azarenka is not keen on grass and can't cope with Serena's serve.

Virginia Wade, Wimbledon singles winner in 1977 and Eurosport commentator, was talking to the Daily Telegraph.
