  • Movers and shakers: Flash City boys

During the season our regular feature will detail whose value is rising and falling.

This week's rundown is dominated by the fallout from Manchester City's extraordinary win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Sadly, there are no Fantasy points awarded for snubbing opposition handshakes.

    UP

Craig Bellamy (FW, Manchester City, 15.35) +4.90

Two goals against Chelsea by the Welshman helped boost City's top-four bid.

Carlos Tevez (FW, Manchester City, 19.75) +3.25

The wily Argentine also helped himself to a brace against the stuttering league leaders.

Fernando Torres (FW, Liverpool, 19.02) +3.19

  • Tactical review: Spilt Claret

The Fantasist learnt this weekend that, just as the eggheads at school were rarely much cop when it came to a game of 50-a-side at lunchtime, double-Countdown champion Clarke Carlisle (4.50, -9.00 points) can't be relied upon to use his brain on the field.

The Burnley defender's hapless display against Portsmouth cost those who chose him dearly. Mind you, Brian Jensen (5.51, 8.00 pts) still managed to turn a profit by saving one of Pompey's two spot-kicks.

There was abject failure between the sticks for Hilario (3.13, -9.50 pts), who shipped four against City and made Chelsea fans long for

Time for The Fantasist to trawl back through Friday's picks from Choose 'em or Lose 'em and see who came up with the goods.

    GOALKEEPERS

Choose 'em: So, Burnley "simply do not score away from home", eh? Shay Given (7.84) had a rare bad week in goal for Manchester City as his side shipped three. A haul of -6 points and a massive price drop are surely a blip on an otherwise upward trajectory. Mind you, next up for City is a trip to Anfield. Talking of Liverpool, well, we can't, as they host Birmingham this evening, so no comment on Pepe Reina (9.79).

Lose 'em: Burnley's Brian Jensen (7.35) also

It's time for The Fantasist's weekly look at the top price movers in Europe, with Sevilla defender Ivica Dragutinovic riding high after scoring a thumping free-kick.

    SPAIN

    UP

Ivica Dragutinovic (DF, Sevilla, 11.04) +5.96

Luis Moran (FW, Sporting Gijon, 15.05) +5.88

Gaizka Toquero (MF, Athletic Bilbao, 14.74) +5.73

Diego Alves (GK, Almeria, 15.54) +5.40

Rafael Marquez (DF, Barcelona, 9.25) +4.46

    DOWN

    Juanfran (MF, Osasuna, 8.28) -5.71

Juan Pablo Carrizo (GK, Real Zaragoza, 5.05) -4.72

Diego Lopez (GK, Villarreal, 6.98) -4.14

    Not all of
    The Fantasist's tips performed in
the opening weekend of Liga action (that means you, Albiol) but if you followed
the advice to select Getafe's Roberto
    Soldado
    you were laughing.

    The Getafe striker was the
    week's top performer, grabbed a
hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Racing Santander - his haul was worth 31 points and
saw his value rocket from 11.75 to 17.69. The Fantasist also bagged a bargain
in midfielder Xavi Torres, who scored in Malaga's demolition of Atletico Madrid.

    There was a
confident start from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose debut goal and five shots on
    target earned him 23.5

  • Fantasy Europe Cup: Choose ‘em or lose ‘em?

The Champions League is back, and so is Fantasy Europe Cup!

Here's the Fantasist's rundown of who to pick in your team and who to kick to the kerb for the eight ties that make up the last 16.

    GOALKEEPERS

Choose 'em:  Arsenal have travelled to Potugal without several key players, including Manuel Almunia (12m). He was a bit on the pricey side anyway, but if you still fancy the Gunners to beat the Dragons, then Lukasz Fabianski (4m) looks a steal.

Bordeaux conceded just four goals in the group stage, the least of all the teams in the first half of the tournament. The French champions face

    During the
season our regular feature will detail whose value is rising and falling.

    UP

Roman Pavlyuchenko (FW, Tottenham, 11.14) +4.75

    The Russian
bagged a brace from the bench to become this week's top dog.

Stewart Downing (MF, Aston Villa, 13.49) +4.45

    The Villa
wide man also netted two to help down Burnley.

    Nicky Shorey (DF, Fulham, 11.84) + 4.27

    Played well
in front of Fabio Capello to see his price soar with his England chances.

Landon Donovan (FW, Everton, 10.28) +3.78

    The
American shone for Everton in their stunning victory over Manchester United.

Valon Behrami (MF, West Ham, 9.40)

  • Tactical review: Downing on the up

    The
Fantasist doesn't blow its own trumpet much, mainly because it generally has no
cause to, but once in a while it comes up trumps, like this week in the
    goalkeeping department.

    Friday's
Choose 'em or lose 'em was pretty much spot on between the sticks with
Arsenal's Lucasz Fabianski (6.11, no points) dropped and Manuel
    Almunia (11.36, 16.5pts)
coming back in to put in a decent performance in
    shutting out Sunderland.

    West Ham's Rob
    Green (9.83, 16.5pts)
was an even better shout though in terms of value for
money, the Hammers shot stopper keeping Hull City goalless, while the Fantasist was

  • Fan groups: Fantasy reflects reality

As the Premier League title race begins to take shape, so too does the table of Fantasy Football players representing each club.

In a spooky coincidence, the highest scorers in each fan group reflect the real life Premier League. The top four teams in our league are not only the traditional top four clubs, but they're in the same order as the current table too. Below that... well, below that the similarity completely falls away, but it's still pretty weird, no?

Topping the table, representing Chelsea, is Glory Glory ZiZo Kuwait, overall leader in the entire game. Their current team is:

About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
