  • Injury report: Gameweek 37

Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan will miss
the final two games of the season after undergoing ankle surgery.

The 28-year-old will have the operation
later today, but is expected to be fit for the start of the new campaign.

Darren Fletcher could play some part in Manchester United's attempts to secure a record 19th
league title on Saturday after coming through a reserve-team outing against
    Blackburn.

Fletcher's season has been scarred by a virus he
picked up in March that laid him low for almost two months. The Scotland skipper
is viewed as a likely starter in the Champions League final against

    Manchester City's Champions League
showdown with Tottenham on Tuesday meant they were the only two teams on a
double-gamer last week, and The Fantasist got involved.

Three City players and four from
Spurs were deployed by yours truly to varying degrees of success although
bizarrely, considering they took one point from the six available to them, it
was the London quartet which came out best.

Rafael van der Vaart led the way with 21.5 points, not
bad considering he didn't score in either match, although it cost almost as
much to sign him. Luka Modric brought in a reasonable 12, but Aaron
    Lennon

  • Fantasy: Picking your formation

We continue our guide to the Fantasy Premier League game by guiding you on
    how to choose your formation.

Unlike football management simulation games, you are restricted in your
choice of formation, so no bright sparks trying to cheat their way to victory by
choosing seven goal-scoring attacking midfielders in a 3-5-3 formation.

You can play 3-5-2, 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 and you can change it at will.

Of course 3-4-3 gives you the most attacking options but, with the advanced
age of Fantasy sports, this does not guarantee maximum points on a weekly
    basis.

Points are given and taken for saves,

    But for
the hapless goalkeeping of Sunderland's Simon Mignolet, the Fantasist would have
    had a respectable week.

    Mignolet
let the side down in a massive way with his minus 11 score for the week and his
    aberration left the Fantasist reeling.

    The Black
Cats keeper shipped in three goals against Fulham, and that's no good for
anyone in the world of fantasy football.

    Aleksandar
    Kolarov
and Ahmed Elmohamady each ticked along with tidy 5.5 scores,
representing Manchester City and Sunderland respectively, which was a fillip.

    David
    Luiz
is a consistent presence at the back for Chelsea, and he came
    in

Tottenham's ailing hopes of returning to the Champions League next season may be given a big boost by the return of Ledley King in time for Sunday's match against Chelsea.

The Spurs centre-back has only played seven games all season - and none at all since mid-October - but he could make his return to the squad for Saturday's trip to Stamford Bridge.

Carlo Ancelotti believes he will have a fully fit squad for the London derby.

Across North London, Arsenal have suffered from the absence of one of their own centre-backs - Thomas Vermaelen. The Belgian has not played for the Gunners since August

Four games remain, and every selection you make between now and the end of the season could be crucial in winning - or losing - you a league title.

As ever, there are no shortage of tricky selection conundrums this weekend.

Andy Carroll could return from injury when Liverpool face Newcastle, but the big striker is far from certain to start against his former club.

Meanwhile, West Ham's talismanic midfielder Scott Parker could be rushed back from injury for the Hammers' trip to Manchester City.

All hail King Kenny! No, The Fantasist doesn't mean Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish, whose midfielder Maxi Rodriguez was the weekend's top scorer with 40.5 points courtesy of his hat-trick against Birmingham, but Stoke's Kenwyne Jones.

With a double gameweek for four of the Premier League's less fashionable sides, The Fantasist put faith in the Trinidadian striker and was repaid with goals against Aston Villa and Wolves for a tidy haul of 27 points.

Jones's Potters team-mates in the Fantasist's XI had mixed fortunes with Robert Huth bagging 15 points over the two games but Matthew Etherington -

  • Wigan and Villa fighting fit

This weekend may be the time to pick some Wigan and Aston Villa players for your Fantasy team, as the relegation-battling duo find form and fitness when it counts.

After dreadful seasons the pair have no injuries, with Wigan's only first-team absence the suspended Maynor Figueroa.

Wigan were bottom at various spells but a 3-1 win at Blackpool has taken them out of the relegation zone - Hugo Rodallega and Charles N'Zogbia the key men for the Latics.

They travel to Sunderland at the weekend, with the Black Cats having just lost keeper Craig Gordon for the season and without a win in nine games -

About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
