Choose ‘em or lose ‘em: Final countdown

    Your weekly
guide to the good and bad of Fantasy Football as the season draws to a close.

    GOALKEEPERS

    Choose
    'em
    : Dirt cheap Rob
    Green
(3.15) may be a sound investment this week with West Ham's opponent's
Manchester City having nothing left to play for. Lukasz Fabianski may be
nicknamed Flappyhandski but surely he is worth a punt at a mere 5.36 with a
home game against Fulham coming up.

Lose 'em: Speaking of which, Mark
    Schwarzer
(9.61) may be among the Fulham players rested for the upcoming
Europa League final so best he is left well alone this week. Likewise any
regular Fulham starter, really. Wigan keeper Vladmir Stojkovic (4.41) is
another to avoid this week - the Serb was awful against Hull City on Monday and
you just get the feeling Chelsea are going to stick a few past him.

    DEFENDERS

    Choose
    'em
    : With Arsenal's
game against Fulham increasingly looking like a home banker, Sol Campbell
(6.95) appears to be a good buy. A drop in price after last week's poor
performance means Aston Villa's James Collins (12.92) may be an
attractive option for the more free-spending manager, but for the thriftier
among you why not go for Everton's Joseph Yobo at an affordable 6.65?

    Lose 'em: Fulham first-teamers. Jamie
    Carragher
(8.35) is doubtful for Liverpool's clash at Hull and is best left
alone while Paul Scharner's (7.69) last appearance for Wigan should not
tempt you to pick him.  Spurs skipper Ledley King (12.85) played
midweek, so is unlikely to feature again - offload the injury-addled defender
    now.

    MIDFIELDERS

    Choose
    'em
    : Everton
schemer Mikel Arteta (18.87) may be pricey but he is at least 3.01
cheaper than last week and with a game against Portsmouth coming up, he's still
a tasty buy. Luka Modric (7.82) is too classy to overlook at that price
when Spurs travel to Burnley and why not have a punt on the on-form Florent
    Malouda
(14.92) to grab a goal against Wigan?

Lose 'em: Fulham first-teamers. Poor old Gareth
    Barry
(8.83) is crocked so ditch the Villa midfielder for the final game of
the season. Likewise Antonio Valencia (11.14), who will play no part in
    Manchester United's clash with Stoke.

    STRIKERS

    Choose
    'em
    : Salomon
    Kalou
(9.65) is reasonably priced, especially with Wigan heading to
Stamford Bridge, while Robin van Persie (19.94) is back and in the goals
for Arsenal and represents a safe bet. And why not treat yourself to one final
end-of-season splurge on either Nicolas Anelka (16.42) or Wayne
    Rooney
(20.10). It's your last chance. If not, you'd fancy the cheaper Peter
    Crouch
    (9.51) to net against Burnley.

    Lose 'em: Fulham first-teamers. Manchester
City must be demoralised and Carlos Tevez (22.50) is too pricey to keep
if his heart's not in it. And if you haven't got rid of him yet, offload
Dimitar Berbatov. Why? Because he's rubbish.

    This
week's deadline is noon on Sunday.

    About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
