    Injury Report: Gameweek 31

Fabricio Coloccini of NewcastleFabricio ColocciniThis week's injuries have more of an impact on teams in mid-table and below, with the only major new absences those of Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini, and Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam - teams who play each other on Sunday, and teams battling for a Europa League place.

Argentine centre-half Coloccini suffered a hamstring problem in the fine 3-1 win at West Brom and will be out for a few weeks, while Adam injured his knee in the shock defeat at home to Wigan. The Scotland international's season could be over, with the pair of absences more likely to have a negative effect on Toon, as Coloccini is vital to their defence.

Toon are boosted by the returns of Cheick Tiote and Ryan Taylor though, while January signing Papiss Cisse should have recovered from an extreme case of cramp that forced him off in the last match, during which he scored twice.

Norwich have a little problem in the absence of star striker Grant Holt after he picked up two yellow cards in the 2-1 win over Wolves. The Canaries face a tough trip to Fulham without their main goal threat; the Whites are missing forward Andy Johnson, who has a knee problem.

Finally, QPR have sent loan striker Federico Macheda of Manchester United back to his parent club after he picked up a season-ending ankle injury. He failed to score in six games for the Hoops.

    About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
