    Matchday review: Gameweek 29

Before we get to the weekly breakdown of how The Fantasist didn't take its own advice and paid the price with its weekend score, first some news on the members of the Fantasist Superleagues.

Boss FC, who have been leading the combined standings here for a while, have risen up to fifth in the overall table for the entire game. They are still a little way behind leaders Chengcheng's (141 points, to be precise), but there is still enough time for a late surge to the top of the table.

As well as that, second-placed Numero Uno have risen up to joint-28th overall, while Dragonbalz and Cincilatori make it a highly admirable four teams representing The Fantasist Superleague in the top 50. Keep up the good work.

Anyway, back to business. The aberration that was not changing The Fantasist's team last week reaped some benefit this time out, with Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny scoring well and team-mate Samir Nasri ticking over in the 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

The condition of Szczesny's dislocated finger is sure to be followed very closely by Fantasy Football players everywhere ahead of Saturday's deadline.

Charlie Adam served the second game of his two-match suspension, while Birmingham duo Martin Jiranek and Sebastian Larsson also didn't play.

At least they all have an excuse for not scoring any points - marquee signing Carlos Tevez should have filled his boots against Wigan, but was so poor he didn't score a single point. Even defender and Manchester City team-mate Aleksandar Kolarov outscored him.

Still, at least Jiranek and Larsson have a second bite at the cherry this gameweek when they take on Everton on Wednesday night. Toffees trio Leon Osman, Seamus Coleman and Mikel Arteta have already delivered the goods for The Fantasist, so anything they produce at Goodison will be a bonus.

    About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
