    Matchday review: Gameweek 30

Another sorry week has left The Fastasist grateful for the respite
    of the international break.

A spate of duff performances mean The Fantasist is now
floundering outside the leading 4,000 - pretty sobering stuff considering it
was bearing down on a top-1,500 position a few weeks back.

Plenty of bosses jumped all over Arsenal's Manuel Almunia,
then quickly wished they hadn't when he issued a chilling reminder of how he
got dropped in the first place.

His blunder for the second West Brom goal was classic Almunia,
and contributed to a pitiful score of minus-five.

Hardly any better were Aleksandar Kolarov, Samir Nasri, Leon
Osman, Darren Bent and Wayne Rooney, who combined for a massively tepid 21
    points.

The only bright spots were Chris Smalling (9.5 points), who
comfortably outscored his value, Gareth Bale (13.5 pts) who didn't, and Charlie
Adam, whose 29-point haul saved The Fantasist from total oblivion.

There were some proper selection clangers, too. Diniyar
Bilyaletdinov was consigned to the Everton bench, while Blackburn boss Steve
    Kean dropped Jason Roberts.

    About Fantasy Football

The Fantasist is an expert, no, a guru, in all things Fantasy Football. It will dispense its wisdom throughout the season, unravelling the great mysteries of our time. Conundrums like "Aaron Hughes or Stephen Warnock?' and 'Where does Matty Taylor get all those points from?' During the barren summer months, The Fantasist satisfies its gaming needs by losing a small fortune at its local bingo hall. Consequently, it has a lot riding on Eurosport-Yahoo!'s £5 entry, winner-takes-all office league this season.
