Monfils’s only chance to beat Federer

Seven-times Grand Slam champion and Eurosport expert analyst Mats Wilander admits that if he had the knowledge of how Gael Monfils can beat Roger Federer, Monfils would be on the phone to him straight away.

But despite the enormity of the task that awaits Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros, Wilander believes that the Frenchman has a chance of victory if he can stay aggressive, serve at his absolute best and take every single opportunity that the Swiss maestro offers him.

Wilander admits that he has never seen Monfils play well enough to beat Federer.

"Then again," admits Wilander. "He's just had the biggest win of his career, against David Ferrer."

Mats also discusses Monfils's match against Ferrer in more detail, and sits down with Rafael Nadal to talk through his win over Ivan Ljubicic.
