Jack Edwards rips Chris Stewart’s IQ; Ducks forward hits back (Video)

In the Anaheim Ducks’ 6-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, forward Chris Stewart and defenseman Torey Krug got into a fight. This was notable because Stewart is a rather sizeable and experienced fighter, and Krug … isn’t.

Bruins play-by-play man Jack Edwards took notice of the disparity as the fight continued, and uncorked another classic rant:

“What a manly thing to do for Chris Stewart, taking on a guy Krug’s size. Stewart’s working him over because Krug is punching uphill. I hope Chris Stewart feels really good about himself. Six-two, 231 [pounds] going after a guy that’s 5-9 and 181. Considering he’s giving up 50 pounds, but he’s also got an advantage of about 50 IQ points, I think you gotta think pretty well of Krug in that exchange.”

Apparently word of Edwards’s intelligence assessment reached Stewart, who tweeted later in the evening:

And yet the fight, for whatever reason, appeared to serve as the turning point in the game. Even Jack Edwards admitted that Stewart’s domination of Krug shifted the momentum:

And ...

In the end, did Edwards truly insult Stewart’s intelligence? Maybe he just considers Krug a genius. We’ll never know.
