Double-knockout from amateur MMA bout in California

At Galaxy Fight Night IV, an amateur MMA event in northern California, Brandon Alexander and Aaron Britt treated the fans to the rare MMA treat of a fast double-knockout. As the video above shows, the fighter introductions last longer than the fight itself. Seconds after squaring off, they both threw the same hook that landed on each other's button. Then, in a mirror image, both fighters fell to the ground. They both got back up, but the referee waved the fight off.

In the end the match was adjudged no-contest, although the ring announcer subsequently draws cheers when he suggests the pair face off in a June rematch.

These results are more likely in the amateur ranks as fighters are still learning how to defend themselves while throwing punches. You can bet that both Alexander and Britt will remember to keep their hands up in their next fight. They learned the hard way.

    About The Pugilist

The Pugilist dissects the sweet science with the precision of a Klitschko jab, the power of a Pacquiao body blow and the flair of Muhammad Ali in his pomp. At least, that's what his promoter told him. He has his cauliflower ear to the canvas for all the latest boxing matches, mis-matches and hat-orientated judging controversies. And all on a basic wage of nobbins and leftover protein bars.
