One player collapses, the other throws up after epic rally

France's Richard Gasquet and Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov shared the most incredible rally of the French Open so far.

But while the crowd were left royally entertained by the epic, 38-shot exchange, the two players were rendered broken wrecks by the extraordinary sequence, with Dimitrov left writhing on the floor in agony and Gasquet vomiting onto the hallowed clay of Roland Garros.

The rally came with Gasquet on break point against Dimitrov, with the Bulgarian 5-4 up and serving to win the second. Gasquet took control of the rally with the 32nd shot, a fierce topspin forehand, and pressed home his advantage to close out the game with a smash.

Immediately the point was over both players bent over double and the madness ensued. Gasquet's vomiting has been edited out of the video above for reasons of taste (though those of iron constitutions can     watch it here in our round up of funny moments from the tournament), while Dimitrov's debilitating cramps stopped him from returning to action for three minutes.

It was Dmitrov who was the worst affected in the long run: he had been close to taking a two sets to love lead, but ended up losing the next two games before losing the second round match 5-7 7-5 6-2 6-3.

    About Tramlines

Tramlines spent its formative years living and breathing tennis, watching Yannick Noah berate line judges and admiring Steffi Graf"s backhand slice from the comfort of its couch at home. Nowadays, Tramlines can often be seen wearing Andre Agassi's old denim shorts, sleeping under its desk in an office with an overzealous air-con machine, whilst devouring punnets of strawberries and pints of Pimms in a bid to bring you the best of the world's tennis. It boasts a 100 per cent record against Alex Bogdanovic on clay and has a top-spin forehand frequently compared to that of the great MaliVai Washington.
